Volterra at a Glance

Volterra Technology Inc. (Volterra) was originally founded by Canadians with the purpose of bringing the World's most advanced battery storage technologies into Canada for development and production. With this approach, Volterra will contribute to producing the next generation of the battery technology industry within Canada and be a global leader in this exciting and changing technology space.

Volterra Technology Inc.’s business advantage is the companies exclusive access to a research and development team of professionals producing advanced battery technologies exceeding today's battery storage offerings in key critical areas of battery storage specifications (High Energy Density, Low Production Cost, Fast Charging, High Power, High Thermal Stability, Decreased Cost and High Cycle life). Our innovative technology products will contribute the financial input to sustain the ongoing research and development needed to keep Canada on top of current technology trends in the marketplace and with a common goal to reduce carbon emissions and water usage on the Planet. Our team of scientists and technologists led by some of the greatest minds in applied science will keep our products and technologies innovative and in demand for generations to come.  Continuous development and exploitation of new technologies and ideas is a crucial component of our business, improves our processes, brings new and improved products and services to market, increases our efficiency and, most importantly, improves our profitability.

Volterra will be active in key aspects of the business from the production of battery cells, to pack configuration and modular systems installation. Volterra will continuously look to optimize the manufacturing system, using new technologies being constantly developed and tested for integration that will allow for cleaner energy manufacturing with little to no impact on the environment.

The initial target market in Canada for Volterra Technology Inc. is to service federal buildings as well as the Indigenous communities across Canada, these Canadian taxpayers are currently paying upto $1.50 per KWH for their power needs. With the introduction of the Canadian Infrastructure Bank (CIB) to aid in financing renewable energy projects and the cooperation of the Procurement Strategy Aboriginal Board (PSAB), we have identified a niche market to combat this problem of costly energy. Our associations within the Indigenous community gives Volterra a leading edge to engage and successfully contribute to these projects.

Volterra will design and launch its first cell manufacturing facility that will facilitate and lead to a scalable production process, and will grow from an initial Megawatt to Gigawatt to Terawatt hour production output. Our manufacturing business model is streamlined allowing Volterra Technology Inc. to continuously build and expand our business from province to province. Revenues from this part of the business will be used to fuel the growth of our output as we responsibly repay our debt and provide our investors with their ROI.

Volterra’s Technology’s growth strategy is initially based on manufacturing our own storage cell products. However, for the purpose of rapid deployment for projects prior to production setup, we have established through strategic partnerships a procurement plan of high performance, cost effective battery systems enabling us to provide turnkey solutions where and when required including the Indigenous communities across Canada.

Although we have access to quality storage battery systems, our strategy and advantages for producing a Volterra developed storage cell amongst others is: control production costs (bring manufacturing costs below $100/kWh), in-house production allows for secure control of intellectual property (IP), in-house testing (Quality Control), Control our own supply requirements, eliminates/minimizes logistics issues, management considerations, forces sales to happen, etc.

Our Volterra team has performed an exhausting review of current and future battery storage market trends, industry needs and current problems needing solutions. Over the last ten years, a surge in lithium-ion battery production drove down prices to the point that — for the first time in history — electric vehicles became commercially viable from the standpoint of both cost and performance. The next step, and what will define the next decade, will be utility-scale storage.

This is where Volterra Technology Inc.’s advanced batteries will play a vital role. Supplying storage solutions for immediate needs and future needs (Electric Vehicles, Grid, Commercial and Industrial Storage, Residential Storage,) and allowing Volterra to capture the massive economic opportunity underlying the shift to smart Energy management and battery-based energy systems.

Further, as the immediacy of the climate crisis becomes ever more apparent, storage batteries hold the key to transitioning to a renewable-fueled world. Solar and wind are playing a greater role in power generation, but without effective energy storage techniques, natural gas and coal will still be needed for times when the sun isn’t shining or the wind isn’t blowing. Therefore, large scale storage will be instrumental if Societies are to shift away from a world dependent on fossil-fuels

This business plan will identify the market demand for battery storage products and solutions, Canadian incentives and programs to assist our ongoing funding requirements, our position in this growing industry and how we plan on innovating, implementing and manufacturing our exclusive Volterra Battery Energy Storage Technology (“VBEST”) solutions and become a top global player in this exciting and growing market.
